Handmade Calendar Pages!

I am pretty late posting this, but I thought it might give some of you who are already thinking about Christmas 2012 some ideas. I made homemade scrapbook calendars as gifts for a lot of friends and family - I just took it a couple steps further to make it something they could keep as a remembrance of the year. Like a year in review, or something. Each month has four pages. The first, of course is a calendar for that particular month. The other pages have room for pictures and journaling, like a normal type scrapbook, but I also added poems, quotes, and pockets for keepsakes. I found this project very fun, if not a little time consuming. It was worth it, though. The calendar scrapbooks turned out to be a huge hit and I already have requests from people to make them again for the next year.
Most of the paper is used is by Karen Foster.
Most of the embellishments are handmade.
I tried to be as creative as possible in the small space I had to work with, without making the pages too busy.
Some months were easier than others, but overall, I think the whole thing turned out pretty well.
Stay tuned for the next three months of pages to be posted soon! And as always let me know what you think!

A Little Love

In honor of Valentines Day, I thought I would post a Valentine's card with a little different feel. I used my Indie Art cart for the front and my Sew Easy tools for the heart stitching on the inside. The whole project took me about 20 minutes!

More Winter...BRRR!!!

Well, its about 6 degrees with the wind chill here today. So I thought these pieces would be appropriate to post. Not enough snow for a snowman, yet. Still more on the way, though.

Winter is Here!

These are some of my favorite PP's for winter. I really like the polar bear - I made him for a swap a couple of years ago and just fell in love with him. You can't really tell from the picture, but I used pop dots to make his paws standout. Unfortunately, I lost the pattern for him :( I hate the idea of having to take him apart to make more, but that is probably what I will have to do.

A Few little Things

Okay, he ended up sideways but I think you can still see him. This guy is an older PP I had done years okay but re-made this year for a scrapbook page showing our yearly Gingerbread making tradition.
One of my favorites, this little guy is always good for cards or scrapbook pages.
The Christmas elf finally found a home on a scrapbook page of our family Christmas shopping.
Snoopy was made as part of a Christmas card but I love him so much I kept him...don't know what I will do with him yet..lol
My mini Christmas tree made with the Martha Stewart Scoring board. I made different sized rosettes and stacked them together. The star was cut off the George and basic shapes cart. It was a quick and easy project.

Elves , Elves, Everywhere!

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Mine was busy but still good. The weather was incredible!

Well...with Thanksgiving over it is time to think about Christmas - and look who showed up just in time! I hand pieced these guys and let me tell you it was very time consuming, but I think they turned out pretty cute.
